Customs Rules
Import regulations::
Free import of:
1. 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 grammes of tobacco;
2. 1 litre of spirits and 2 litres of wine;
3. 250 ml. of eau de cologne or 50 grammes of perfume.
Crew members customs regulations::
Same regulations apply as for passengers.
Pets::
Cats and dogs must be accompanied by a veterinarian health certificate issued at the point of origin. Pets may enter as passenger's checked baggage, in the cabin or as cargo.
Baggage Clearance regulations::
Baggage is cleared at the international airport of Albania.
Exempt: baggage of passengers transiting to a third country and not leaving the transit area.
Airport Embarkation Tax
Customs Tax is levied on:
1. Nationals of Albania: ALL 1000.-;
2. Foreigners: USD 10.-, embarking from Tirana Airport.
Place of payment: Tirana Airport.
Exempt:
1. Diplomats:
2. Officially invited delegates;
3. Crew members;
4. Military personnel of NATO, UN KFOR, MAPE and accompanying family members.
Currency rules
Currency Import regulations:
Local currency (Albanian Lek-ALL): prohibited.
Foreign currencies: no restrictions.
Currency Export regulations:
Local currency (Albanian Lek-ALL): prohibited.
Foreign currencies: up to USD 5,000.- or up to the amounts imported declared on arrival.
