Customs Rules
Import regulations::
Free import of:
- 400 cigarettes;
- 2 litres or 1 bottle of alcohol (regardless of how many litres contained);
- 5 kg perfume or an amount valued up to usd 500.-;
- personal goods valued up to usd 500.- (for residents and non-residents).
The customs declaration filled out on arrival must be retained by the passenger.
Prohibited:
- narcotics, pornographic materials, fruits and vegetables without proper documents.
Arms and Ammunition regulations::
All military arms and ammunition are prohibited.
Additional Information on regulations::
Pieces of art should be accompanied by a document from the ministry of culture authorizing export. Passenger must hold a photo of each piece of art. Passengers must pay a tax at the airport of approx. USD 10.- per piece of art.
Export regulations::
Free export of:
- 2,000 cigarettes;
- 20 litres of alcohol.
The customs declaration filled out on arrival must be presented.
Prohibited: Narcotics, pornographic materials, fruits and vegetables without proper documents.
Pets::
Live animals must be accompanied by a veterinarian health certificate.

At first airport of entry.
Airport Embarkation Tax
Governmental exit duty is levied on all passengers embarking in Armenia for destinations abroad: (Armenian Dram -AMD) AMD 10,000.- or approx. USD 20.-.
Place of payment: airport of departure.
Exempt are:
1. Transit passengers;
2. Children under 12 years of age;
3. Holders of diplomatic passports;
4. Holders of U.N. "Laissez-Passer".
Currency rules
Currency Import regulations:
Local currency (Armenian Dram -AMD) and foreign currencies: no restrictions. However, cash of more than USD 10,000.- or equivalent should be declared.
Currency Export regulations:
Local currency (Armenian Dram -AMD) and foreign currencies: no restrictions up to USD 10,000.-or equivalent.
Warning: More than USD 10,000- must be transferred via a bank.
