Customs Rules
Import regulations::
Free import to passengers arriving with goods purchased within the E.U. which are for personal use only:
1. tobacco products, for passengers aged 17 years of age and older:
- 800 cigarettes; or
- 400 cigarillos (max. 3g each); or
- 200 cigars; or
- 1kg smoking tobacco;
2. alcoholic beverages, for passengers aged 17 years of age and older:
- 10 litres of spirits over 22%; or
- 20 litres of alcoholic beverages less than 22%; or
- 90 litres of wine (though no more than 60 litres of sparkling wine); or
- 110 litres of beer.
Free import to passengers arriving from non-E.U. countries (incl. Aland Island, Canary Islands, Channel Islands and other similar territories) :
1. tobacco products, for passengers aged 17 and older:
- 200 cigarettes; or
- 100 cigarillos (max. 3g each); or
- 50 cigars; or
- 250g of tobacco; or
- proportional assortment;
2. alcoholic beverages, for passengers aged 17 and older:
- 1 litre of spirits over 22% volume, or non-denatured ethyl alcohol with more than 80% volume; or
- 2 litres of spirits or aperitifs made of wine or similar beverages less than 22% volume, or sparkling wines or liqueur wines; or
- a proportional mix of these products; and in addition
- 4 litres of wine; and
- 16 litres of beer;
3. medicinal products sufficient for personal needs;
4. other goods (for air travellers) up to a total value of EUR 430.- per traveller or EUR 150.- (per passenger aged under 15 years).
Prohibited:
Products of animal origin, not originating from an EU member state, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino or Switzerland, are not permitted to be imported into an EU Member state, with the exception of limited amounts from Andorra, Croatia, the Faeroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland and small amounts of specific products from other countries.

Additional Information on regulations::
1. Hunting trophies must always be declared at customs at port of entry.
2. When bringing in firearms:
a. from an E.U. country: travellers require a European Firearms Pass as well as a permit for bringing the weapon into Austria. Hunters and marksmen only require the European Firearms Pass when carrying a max. of three weapons and ammunition. This does not apply to hand-guns carried by hunters;
b. from a non-E.U. country:
-residents of Austria may only import weapons if they can show their weapons pass or weapon ownership card to the customs official;
-non-residents of Austria require a permit persuant with section 39 of the Austrian Weapons Act, which can be obtained at official Austrian representation abroad.
Prohibited:
Dangerous weapons such as pump guns or knuckle-dusters.
Export regulations::
Free export of:
- 1000 cigarettes or 200 cigars or 1 kg. of tobacco;
- unlimited alcoholic liquor;
- 1 opened bottle (1/4 l.) of perfume.
Crew members customs regulations::
Same regulations as for passengers apply.
Pets::
Cats and dogs are subject to special regulations (EC) No. 998/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
Additionally, pets arriving from the following countries do not require a serological test for rabies (anti-body titration):
Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Ascension Islands, Australia, Bahrain, Barbados, Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Isl., Croatia, Falkland Isl., Fiji, French Polynesia, Jamaica, Japan, Mauritius, Mayotte, Monaco, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Singapore, St. Helena, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Pierre & Miquelon, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, U.S.A., Vanuatu and Wallis Isl. & Futuna Isl.

Pets may enter as passenger's checked baggage, in the cabin or as cargo.
Baggage Clearance regulations::
Baggage is cleared at the airport of final destination in Austria.
Airport Embarkation Tax
No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.
Currency rules
Currency Import regulations:
Local currency (Euro-EUR) and foreign currencies: no restrictions.
Currency Export regulations:
Local currency(Euro-EUR)up to EUR 7267.28:no restriction.
Foreign currencies:no restriction.
