Customs Rules
Restrictions: visitors must obtain approval from the Ministere de l'Administration for the use of photo-, film- or video cameras.
Import regulations::
For tourists over 15 years of age free import of:
1. 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 25 cigars or 250 grammes of tobacco;
2. 1 bottle of wine and 1 bottle of spirits;
3. 1/2 litre of eau de toilette and 1/4 litre of perfume.
Pets::
dogs and cats must be accompanied by veterinary certificate, including:
1. confirmation of rabies inoculation not less than 3 weeks nor more than 6 months prior to arrival;
2. statement that no case of rabies has occurred in area of origin for 60 days prior to shipment.
Baggage Clearance regulations::
Baggage is cleared at the airport of final destination in Burkina Faso, provided this is an international airport.
Exempt: baggage of transit passengers with a destination outside of Burkina Faso, which will go through X-ray security control only.
Airport Embarkation Tax
No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.
Currency rules
Currency Import regulations:
Local currency (CFA Franc-XOF) and foreign currencies: no restrictions provided declared on arrival.
Currency Export regulations:
Residents: Local currency (CFA Franc-XOF) and foreign currencies:
1. Up to XOF 400,000.- or equivalent for commercial travel.
2. Up to XOF 175,000.- or equivalent for other purposes.
Non-Residents: Local currency and foreign currencies: up to the amount imported and declared.
