Customs Rules

Import regulations::

Free import by persons of 16 years and older:
 - 1000 cigarettes or 1000 grammes of tobacco products;
 - 1 1/2 litres of alcoholic beverages and 2 litres of wine;
 - a reasonable quantity of perfume for personal use;
 - residents: goods up to an amount of USD 10,000.- forpersonal use only;
   non-residents: goods up to an amount of USD 10,000.-.

Photographs and printed matter directed against Belarus, military arms and ammunition, narcotics (opium, hashish, etc.), live animals (except by special permit), agricultural materials (report any material in baggage to the State Plant Quarantine Service).

Additional Information on regulations::

No special permit is required for import of a video camera for personal use, provided declared on arrival and re-exported.
The customs declaration, which will be filled out on entry of Belarus or any other C.I.S. country must be kept carefully. When leaving Belarus or any other C.I.S. country on an international flight, this declaration has to be handed over. When travelling to other C.I.S. countries (except Turkmenistan and Ukraine) there will be no customs control at both points. This will take place when leaving the other C.I.S. country on an international flight.

Export regulations::

Arms, ammunition, precious metals, (gold, silver, etc.) and articles  made thereof (also if containing precious stones and/or real pearls), antiquities and art objects (subject to duty and special permit from the Ministry of Culture) and furs.

Except if such articles belong to the imported personal effects of the passenger (e.g. personal jewelry) and have been declared upon arrival.

Crew members customs regulations::

Same regulations as for passengers apply.

Pets::

Cats, dogs and birds (except pigeons) must be accompanied by Veterinarian Health Certificate bearing seal of local Board of Health and not be issued over ten days prior to arrival. Pigeons are prohibited entry. Pets may enter as passenger's checked baggage, in the cabin or as cargo. Generally pets are not permitted in hotels.

Baggage Clearance regulations::

Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in Belarus. This does not per definition exclude another clearance at the airport of final destinations outside Belarus.
Exempt: baggage of passengers who embarked in Russian Fed. For travellers entering Belarus, a limit of baggage allowance of 50 kg. exists. If exceeding the limit, a customs fee of EUR 4.- (approx. USD 2.-) per kilo will apply.



Airport Embarkation Tax

No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.



Currency rules

Currency Import regulations:

Foreign currencies: no restrictions, provided declaration is made.

Currency Export regulations:

Foreign currencies: up to the amount imported and declared. Foreign banknotes and coins must be exported within 2 months after import.
