Import regulations::
Same regulations as for the United Kingdom.
Arms and Ammunition regulations::
Carriers are required to contact their respective country manager to obtain clearance to board passengers traveling with firearms and ammunition.
Additional Information on regulations::
The import of agricultural produce, plants, meat and meat products, processed foods, live animals and veterinary drugs are subject to restrictions or are prohibited. Before bringing such items into Belize, contact the Belize Agricultural Health Authority (BAHA).
Pets::
Cats and dogs require an import permit from the Agriculture Department Belmopan, Belize, attn. Chief Agricultural Officer, a General Health Certificate (issued within the last 14 days) and a rabies shots certificate (issued not less than 1 month or more than 1 year prior to date of importation). This certificate can be included in the General Health Certificate.
Baggage Clearance regulations::
Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in Belize.
Exempt: under extraordinary circumstances, baggage of transit passengers with a destination outside of Belize. In case baggage is transferred from plane to plane, approval must be obtained from Customs Authorities prior to arrival.
Airport Embarkation Tax
No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.
Currency rules
Currency Import regulations:
Local currency (Belize Dollar-BZD) BZD 100.- per person.
Foreign currencies: unlimited provided it gets declared upon arrival.
Currency Export regulations:
1. Residents:
a. Local currency (Belize Dollar-BZD) a maximum of BZD 100.- per person;
b. Foreign currencies: up to the equivalent of BZD 400.- per person.
Non-Residents:
a. Local currency: max. BZD 100.- per person.
b. Foreign currencies: up to the amount imported and declared.
