Customs Rules
Import regulations::
Free import to passengers arriving with goods purchased within the E.U. which are for personal use only:
1. tobacco products:
- 800 cigarettes;
- 400 cigarillos;
- 200 cigars;
- 1 kg of pipe or cigarette tobacco;
2. alcoholic beverages:
- 10 litres of spirits over 22%;
- 20 litres of alcoholic beverages less than 22%;
- 90 litres of wine (though no more than 60 litres of sparkling wine);
- 110 litres of beer.
Free import to passengers arriving from non-E.U. countries (incl. Canary Islands, Channel Islands and other similar territories):
1. tobacco products, for passengers aged 17 and older:
- 200 cigarettes; or
- 100 cigarillos (max. 3g each); or
- 50 cigars; or
- 250g of smoking tobacco; or
- a proportional mix of these products;
2. alcoholic beverages, for passengers aged 17 and older:
- 1 litre of spirits over 22% volume, or non-denatured ethyl alcohol with more than 80% volume; or
- 2 litres of spirits or aperitifs made of wine or similar beverages less than 22% volume, or sparkling wines or liqueur wines; or
- a proportional mix of these products; and in addition
- 4 litres still wine; and
- 16 litres of beer;
3. medications for personal use;
4. other goods (for air travellers) up to a total value of EUR 430.-.
Prohibited:
All personal consignments of meat, meat products, milk and milk products, originated in non-E.U. countries, are prohibited to enter Luxemburg with the exception of:
1.powdered infant milk, infant food and special foods required for medical reasons provided that:
- the product does not require refrigeration before consumption;
- it is a packaged brand product;
- the packaging is unbroken.
2. personal consignments from the Faeroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland with a combined total weight that does not exceed 5 kg.
3. personals consignments from Andorra, Norway and San Marino.
4. upon arrival; when goods are declared by an authorized E.U. border inspection post for veterinary control. Goods must be accompanied by the necessary documentation from the official veterinary services of the country of origin, stating that the goods conform to the requirements for entry into the E.U.
Note: up to 1 kg, of other food from animal origin, if authorized, can be imported, without submitting it for veterinary control.
Crew members customs regulations::
For crew members the allowance of the quantities listed is restricted to once per month. At other entries they are allowed to import only one packet of cigarettes.

Baggage Clearance regulations::
Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in Luxembourg.
Exempt:
- baggage of transit passengers with a destination outside of Luxembourg, provided it is labeled to that destination;
- baggage of passengers who embarked in another Schengen State.
Airport Embarkation Tax
No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.
Currency rules
Currency Import regulations:
Same regulations as for export apply.
Currency Export regulations:
Local currency (Euro - EUR) and foreign currencies: no restrictions if arriving from or traveling to another E.U. country.
If arriving directly from or traveling to a country outside the E.U.: amounts exceeding EUR 10,000.- or more or the equivalent in another currency (incl. banker's draft and cheques of any kind) must be declared.
