Customs Rules
Import regulations::
Free import by passengers over 20 years of age of 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 1 lb. of tobacco; a reasonable quantity of toilet requisites (incl. perfume) for personal use; a reasonable quantity and amount of gifts.
Prohibited: alcoholic beverages; goods from Israel or South Africa (Rep.); blank pro-forma invoices; fruits and vegetables; meat and fish products, without prior permission from the Ministry of Animal and Fish Resources
Arms and Ammunition regulations::
Firearms require prior permission from the Ministry of Interior.
Crew members customs regulations::
Same regulations as for passengers apply.
Pets::
Cats and dogs: prior approval must be obtained by the authorities and they must be accompanied by:
- for those originating from Sudan: animal passport and Health Declaration, containing history of vaccinations;
- for those originating from other countries: certificate of origin and a veterinarian good health certificate issued in the country of origin, both of which must be certified by an embassy of Sudan.
Birds: prior approval must be obtained by the authorities and they must be accompanied by a medical certificate.
Baggage Clearance regulations::
Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in Sudan. Luggage of crew will be sent to crew room for clearance.
Airport Embarkation Tax
No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.
Currency rules
Currency Import regulations:
Allowed. Foreign currencies in banknotes, traveller's cheques and letters of credit in all foreign currencies: unlimited provided declared on arrival on a currency form for which an official bank receipt is available. Prohibited: local currency (Sudanese Pound - SDG).
Currency Export regulations:
Allowed. Foreign currencies: up to the amounts imported and declared provided a valid declaration is presented. Prohibited: local currency (Sudanese Pound - SDG).
