Customs Rules

Prohibited: spearguns.

Import regulations::

Free import of:
- 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 125 grammes of tobacco products;
- one litre of spirits or 2 litres of wine.
Restrictions: firearms require a police permit.

Pets::

If arriving from rabies-free countries: all birds, cats and dogs with current vaccinations are allowed. Owners are required to present to the local health officials on arrival a valid Good Health Certificate issued by a certified verterinarian, together with a rabies vaccination certificate (this must not be older than six months).
If arriving from rabies-endemic countries: dogs and cats must be accompanied by a Health Certificate issued by the Veterinary Authoritiy of the country of origin and all other relevant documents (import permit, Veterinary Health Certificate, Vaccination Certificate, Laboratory Test results etc.). The Veterinary Unit must be notified of pet's arrival at least 48 hours prior to arrival.
Fee for the import permit: USD 50.- for each pet.
Pets transhipped via another country and remaining there for 24 hours or more, require a veterinary certificate from the competent authority or quarantine officer stating that the pet did not leave the quarantine area, noting the period of time in quarantine and the condition of the pet.
Pets may enter as passenger's checked baggage, in the cabin or as cargo.
Prohibited: the importation of certain breeds of dogs is prohibited, including any breed of bulldog, doberman pinscher, mastiff, pit bull, rottweiler and others.

Non-compliance with above regulations can result in quarantine, deportation or destroyal of the pet.

Baggage Clearance regulations::

Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in the Turks & Caicos Isl.



Airport Embarkation Tax

1. Airport Departure Tax is levied on all embarking passengers: USD 23.-.
Place of payment: Airport of departure.
Exempt:
1. Children under 2 years of age.
2. Holders of diplomatic passports.
3. UK and USA military personnel.
2. A Security Charge of USD 5.- is also charged.
