Customs Rules

Import regulations::

Free import by tourists over 15 years of age;

100 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 100 grams of tobacco;

1 bottle of wine and 1 bottle of spirits;

1/2 liter of eau de toilette and 1/4 liter of perfume.

For fruits and vegetable products a phytosanitary certificate is required.

Wild Fauna and Flora::

The import of certain endangered species of plant, live animals and their products is prohibited or restricted under CITES.

Pets::

A health certificate issued not later than 3 days before shipment is required. It must state that the pets originate from an area free from contagious diseases and rabies at least 6 weeks prior to arrival. Pets may enter as passenger's checked baggage, in the cabin or as cargo.
An import license is required, except for pets originating from Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Rep., Chad, Congo, Congo (Dem. Rep.), Cote d'Ivoire, France, French overseas departments, French overseas territories, Gabon, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger or Senegal.

Baggage Clearance regulations::

Baggage is cleared at the airport of entry in Togo.

Exempt: baggage of transit passengers, which is cleared at the airport of final destination in or outside of Togo if it is labeled to that destination.



Airport Embarkation Tax

No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.



Currency rules

Currency Import regulations:

Local currency (CFA Franc-XOF) and foreign currencies: maximum XOF 3,000,000.- or equivalent. Must be declared on arrival.

Currency Export regulations:

local currency (CFA Franc-XOF): not exceeding XOF 3,000,000.-;
foreign currencies: to destinations within the French monetary area: unlimited. To destinations outside the French monetary area: up to the equivalent of XOF 6,500,000.-.
Non-residents:
local currency (CFA Franc-XOF): not exceeding XOF 3,000,000.-; foreign currencies: up to the amounts imported and declared.
