Customs

Import regulations:

Same regulations as France.

Arms and Ammunition regulations:

Firearms must be declared on entry and on exit.

Wild Fauna and Flora:

The import of certain endangered species of plant, live animals and their products is prohibited or restricted under CITES.

Crew members customs regulations:

There are no duty free import allowances for crew.

Pets:

Cats and dogs, if more than 6 months old: rabies vaccination certificate issued less than one year and more than one month before departure. Not required for animals less than 6 months old, they will be vaccinated in the country when they are 6 months.

Baggage Clearance regulations:

Baggage is cleared at Djibouti (JIB).
Exempt: baggage of transit passengers with a destination outside Djibouti if the onward flight is on the same calendar day.


Currency

Currency Import regulations:

Local currency (Djibouti Franc-DJF) and foreign currencies: up to a maximum of USD 5,000.- or equivalent.

Currency Export regulations:

Local currency (Djibouti Franc-DJF) and foreign currencies: up to a maximum of USD 5,000.- or equivalent.


Airport Tax

Airport tax is levied on passengers departing Djibouti to:
1. countries bordering Djibouti : DJF 5,000.-;
2. other African countries and Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudia Arabia and United Arab Emirates: DJF 12,000.-;
3. all other countries: DJF 15,000.-.
Place of payment: airport of departure.
