Customs

Import regulations:

Free import of:
- 400 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco;
- 2 liters of alcoholic beverages;
- 500 milliliters of perfume;
- 1 camera and 1 item of electronic equipment (for personal use only);
- 100 grams of jewelry.

Wild Fauna and Flora:

The import of certain endangered species of plant, live animals and their products is prohibited or restricted under CITES.

Crew members customs regulations:

No duty-free restrictions.


Currency

Currency Import regulations:

Local currency (Eritrean Nafka - ERN): No restrictions for residents or non-residents.

Currency Export regulations:

Local currency (Eritrean Nafka - ERN): No restrictions for residents or non-residents.


Airport Tax

Passenger Service Charge: is levied on all passengers leaving Eritrea on:
1. International flights:
a. For nationals of Eritrea: ERN 100.-.
b. For all other nationals: USD 20.-.
2. Domestic flights: all nationals: ERN 15.-.
Exempt: Crew traveling on duty.
