Import regulations:

Free import of:
- 400 cigarettes; and
- 4 liters of any alcohol; and
- personal, non-commercial, goods up to a weight of 100 kilograms.

Additional Information on regulations:

Imported non-commercial goods in excess of 20 kg per one sort of goods are subject to tax of GEL 1.- per kilo.

Export regulations:

Export permit issued by the Ministry of Culture required for pieces of art, together with a photo of the item.


Cats and dogs must be accompanied by a pet passport and veterinarian health certificate. If shipped as cargo, invoice must be presented.

Baggage Clearance regulations:

Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in Georgia.


Currency Import regulations:

Local currency (Georgian Lari-GEL) and foreign currencies: no restrictions.

Currency Export regulations:

Local currency (Georgian Lari-GEL) no restrictions. Foreign currencies: up to USD 500.-.

Airport Tax

No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.
