Import regulations:

free import

for persons over 18 years of age only:
- 200 cigarettes or 250 grams of other tobacco products;
- 2 liters of wine and 1 liter of liquors.

for all passengers: 1/4 liter of eau de cologne or perfume.

gifts up to the amount of USD 200.- per person of 2 years of age or older.

personal effects.
Flowers, plants, seeds: health certificate required.

Prohibited: Fresh meat, bananas and pineapples. Fruits and vegetables from Africa.

Export regulations:

Tobacco products and alcoholic beverages: without restriction. Export permit required for antiquities.


Cats, dogs and birds: import is only allowed through the following ports of entry: Ben Gurion Airport (TLV), Haifa seaport, Ashdod seaport and Eilat seaport.
Import is permitted under the following conditions:
1. holding an import license, issued by the Director of the Veterinary Services in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, except for max. 2 pets imported as accompanied baggage;
2. holding an official veterinary health certificate, issued not more than 10 days prior to arrival, confirming pet is free from disease;
3. importer submits a notification and copy of the veterinary certificate accompanying the pets to the Veterinary Services, at least 2 days before travel, and obtains authorization;
4. pets transported as accompanied baggage must also have a declaration of the owner that the animal has been in their possession at least 90 days prior to import to Israel.
Pets that are healthy and accompanied by the required documentation are not subject to quarantine.
Cats and dogs:
1. must be vaccinated against rabies no more than 1 year and no less than 30 days prior to arrival in Israel and have antibody titer equal to or greater than 0.5IU/ml. Pets imported from Cyprus, Great Britain, Japan and Oceania must be vaccinated against rabies within 5 days prior to arrival;
2. must be at least 4 months old upon arrival, except for pets imported from Cyprus, Great Britain, Japan and Oceania, which must be at least 3 months old;
3. must be fitted with electronic chip, which conforms to Israeli requirements (ISO standard 11784 or Annex A to standard 11785);
Prohibited: import of American Staffordshire Bull Terrier (Amstaff), Bull Terrier, Argentinean Dogo, Japanese Tosa, Staffordshire Bull Terrier (English Staff), Pit Bull Terrier, Brazilian Fila and Rottweiler or cross breeds that exhibit behavior and physical traits.

Baggage Clearance regulations:

Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in Israel.
