Import regulations:

Free import:
1. for passengers of 18 years of age or older:
- 200 cigarettes or 50 cigar or 250 grams of tobacco products;
- 40 oz. of wine or spirits;
2. goods for personal use or gifts up to a value of max. USD 250.-.

Arms and Ammunition regulations:

Permission of the Commissioner of Police is required.

Wild Fauna and Flora:

The import of certain endangered species of plant, live animals and their products is prohibited or restricted under CITES.

Import of fruits and vegetables must be approved by the Quarantine Officers from the Ministry of Agriculture.


Cats and dogs are subject to special regulations and can only be imported as cargo via George F.L. Charles Airport or Hewanorra International Airport. Pets must be electronically identifiable by having had a micro-chip implanted. Veterinary Export Health Certificate issued by the Veterinary Authority of the exporting country is required. Import Permit must be obtained in advance from the Government Veterinary and Livestock Service Division in St. Lucia.

Baggage Clearance regulations:

Baggage is cleared at the airport of entry in St. Lucia.

Exempt: baggage of transit passengers, which is cleared at the airport of final destination in or outside St. Lucia. However 1 to 10 per cent of this baggage is subject to coincidental clearance.


Currency Import regulations:

Local currency (East Caribbean Dollar-XCD) and foreign currencies: no restrictions.

Currency Export regulations:

Local currency (East Caribbean Dollar-XCD) and foreign currencies: no restrictions.

Airport Tax

No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.
