Import regulations:

Free import (irrespective of age of passenger):
- 200 cigarettes or 250 grams of tobacco;
- a reasonable quantity of perfume (opened bottle);
- 3/4 liter of spirits.

Arms and Ammunition regulations:

For all arms and ammunition a permit is required. PROHIBITED: drugs.


Require to have an electronic identification chip and to be accompanied by:
- Import Permit issued by Direccao Nacional dos Servicos de Veterinaria at Mozambique, and
- Veterinarian Health Certificate issued at point of origin, and
- results of rabies antibodies concentration measurements (titration), and
- valid rabies vaccination certificate. Dogs younger than 3 months must be accompanied by the mother's
vaccination document.

Baggage Clearance regulations:

All baggage from passengers arriving on international flights and in transit to a domestic flight, must be checked and cleared by Mozambique Customs upon arrival at Maputo.


Currency Import regulations:

Foreign currencies (incl. cheques and traveler's cheques): no restrictions, provided declared on arrival. Prohibited: local currency (Mozambique Metical-MZN).

Currency Export regulations:

Foreign currencies: up to the amounts imported and declared on arrival. Prohibited: local currency (Mozambique Metical-MZN).

Airport Tax

No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.
