Import regulations:

Free import of:
- 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 125 grams of tobacco products;
- 1 liter of spirits or wine;
- perfume for personal use.

Arms and Ammunition regulations:

A permit from the Commissioner of Police is required for any type of firearms.

Wild Fauna and Flora:

Importation of any plants require a Plant Import Permit from the Plant Protection Services of the Department of Agriculture. For more details, contact [email protected].


All pets must be accompanied by an International Health Certificate issued by an official veterinarian no more than 48 hours prior to travel (no more than 7 days if arriving from Canada or USA), and an Import Permit, issued by the Dept. of Agriculture. The Veterinary Unit must be notified of pet's arrival at least 48 hours prior to arrival. Pets transshipped via another country and remaining there for 24 hours or more, require a veterinary certificate from the competent authority or quarantine officer stating that the pet did not leave the quarantine area, noting the period of time in quarantine and the condition of the pet. Cats and dogs arriving from Canada or USA must have an unexpired rabies vaccine, or must have been vaccinated no less than 3 months prior to shipment (in case of primary vaccination). A rabies antibody blood test carried out not less than 1 months prior to shipment is also required.
Cats and dogs not arriving from Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Barbados, Bermuda, Cayman Isl., Chinese Taipei, Dominica, Fiji, Finland, Iceland, Ireland (Rep.), Jamaica, Japan, Montserrat, New Zealand, Norway, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Pierre and Miquelon, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Sweden, Virgin Isl. (British), Virgin Isl. (US), United Kingdom or Uruguay must have been vaccinated against rabies not less than 6 months and not more than one year prior to shipment (in case of primary vaccination), or must have a valid booster vaccination. A rabies antibody blood test carried out not less than 4 months (2 months for primary vaccination) but not more than 24 months prior to shipment is also required.
Prohibited: the importation of: Akita, any breed of Bulldog, Mastiff, or Pit Bull incl. Staffordshire Bull Terrier and a mixed breed dog incl. Pit Bull Lineage, Bandog, Beauceron, Canary Dog (Presa Canario), Doberman, Dogo Argentino, Fila Braziliero, Japanese Tosa, Jondo, Kuvasaz, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Roman Fighting Dog, Rottweiler, South African Boerboel, any dog which appears to have been bred for fighting and all non-domestic canine species and hybrids of such.

Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in the Turks and Caicos Isl.
