Customs

Import regulations:

Free import of:
1. for passengers of 17 years or older:
- 200 cigarettes or 75 cigars 100 cigarillos or 30 grams of tobacco (or a proportional assortment of these products);
- 5 liters of wine;
- 1,5 liters of spirits over 22% volume, or alcohol with more than 80% volume ethanol;
2. for all passengers:
- 75 grams of perfume and 0,375 liter of eau de toilette;
- 1 kilogram of coffee;
- 200 grams of tea or 890 grams of tea essence;
- personal effects and other goods: up to a maximum of USD 300.-.


Currency

Currency Import regulations:

Local currency (US Dollar - USD) and foreign currencies: no restrictions.
Amounts between USD 5,000.- and USD 10,000.- must be declared on arrival.
Prior authorization from the Central Bank of Timor Leste is required for amounts exceeding USD 10,000.-.

Currency Export regulations:

Local currency (US Dollar-USD) and foreign currencies: up to the amounts imported and declared.


Airport Tax

Passenger Service Fee of USD 10.- is levied on all passengers embarking on international flights.
Place of payment: Airport of departure.
