Import regulations:

Free import, irrespective of age of passenger:
- 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 500 grams of tobacco;
- 1 liter of alcohol with more than 25% volume or 2 litres of alcohol with less than 25% volume;
- 1 liter of eau de toilette or 250 milliliters of perfume;
- gifts up to a total value of approx. USD 25,- or equivalent.

Arms and Ammunition regulations:

Prohibited, except hunting weapons with a special permission.

Wild Fauna and Flora:

The import of certain endangered species of plant, live animals and their products is prohibited or restricted under CITES.

Valuable articles should be declared upon arrival to ensure re-export.

Export regulations:

Free export:
- 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 400 grams of tobacco;
- a reasonable quantity of alcoholic beverages and perfume.


Cats and dogs require:
- copy of their health record and the original health certificate issued by an official veterinary of the exporting country. This must clearly identify the pet and state that the pet is healthy and does not show signs of contagious diseases;
- a microchip or bear a tattoo;
- vaccination against rabies. Vaccination date must be between 3 to 12 months prior to arrival. If the pet is younger than 3 months, a proof that the mother has a valid anti-rabies vaccination is required.
- the breeds Bowerbull mastiff, Pitbull, Rottweiler and Tosa INU; and
- falcons.

Baggage Clearance regulations:

Baggage is cleared at the first airport of entry in Tunisia.

Exempt: passengers in transit at Tunis (TUN) to a destination outside of Tunisia, holding onward tickets.


Currency Import regulations:

Local currency (Tunisian Dinar (TND): prohibited.
Foreign currencies: no restrictions. Amounts exceeding TND 5,000.- or equivalent must be declared.

Currency Export regulations:

Local currency (Tunisian Dinar-TND): prohibited. Up to a max. of TND 3,000.- can be re-exchanged into foreign currencies. Passenger must hold the bank exchange receipt.
Foreign currencies: up to the amounts imported and declared.

Airport Tax

No airport tax is levied on passengers upon embarkation at the airport.
