Import regulations:

Free import:

irrespective of age: 200 cigarettes or 225 grams of tobacco or cigars;

passengers of 18 years of age and older: 1 bottle of spirits and 1 bottle of wine, each not exceeding 1 liter.


Cats and dogs must be accompanied by a veterinarian good health certificate and rabies inoculation certificate issued at the point of origin. Moreover, an import license is required (obtainable from the officer in charge of Agriculture-Vaitupu, Tuvalu), except for pets arriving from the Australian states of New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania or from Fiji, New Zealand or the United Kingdom.

Airport Tax

Departure Tax is levied on passengers embarking for a destination outside of Tuvalu: AUD 30.-.
Place of payment: Airport of departure.
1. Persons transiting by the same aircraft.
2. Children under 3 years of age.
