Import regulations:

Free import by non-residents older than 18 years (residents may import half the duty free quantities). If more is imported the whole quantity is dutiable:
1. 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos (of 3 grams each); or 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco;
2. 1 liter of distilled beverages or 2.25 liters of wine or 3 liters beer;
3. perfume: no restrictions;
4. (gift) articles for personal use: up to a value of ANG 400.-.

Arms and Ammunition regulations:

An import permit is required.

Wild Fauna and Flora:

The import of certain endangered species of plant, live animals and their products is prohibited or restricted under CITES.

Export regulations:

Free export of any quantity of tobacco products and alcoholic beverages.


Cats, dogs, ferrets and parrots must be accompanied by a passport for companion animals mentioned in the regulation (EU) no 576/2013 which has to be completed and signed by an official veterinarian designated by the competent authority of the country of departure (not more than 2 weeks before). The animals have to be registered electronically with an ISO-microchip (the microchip number must be mentioned in the passport). If the animal is older than 12 weeks it has to be vaccinated against rabies with an inactivated vaccine at least one month to one year prior to departure.
If birds or poultry are imported, the Veterinary Services of Curacao has to be warned by the freight forwarders and/or customs.

Prohibited (also in transit):
1. animals younger than 15 weeks;
2. dogs, cats and parrots from South America;
3.pit-bull terrier type dogs.

Baggage Clearance regulations:

Baggage is cleared at Curacao International Airport (Hato) if it is labeled accordingly.


Currency Import regulations:

Local currency: (Antillian Guilder-ANG) and foreign currencies: amounts exceeding ANG 20,000.- or its equivalent must be declared.

Currency Export regulations:

Local currency: (Antillian Guilder-ANG) and foreign currencies: amounts exceeding ANG 20,000.- or its equivalent must be declared.

Airport Tax

Passenger accommodation fee is levied on passengers upon embarkation in Curacao to:
- international destinations: USD 42.-;
- Aruba or St. Martin: USD 30.-;
- Bonaire: USD 15.-.
Place of payment: Curacao International Airport (CUR), or at time of ticket issuance.
Children under 2 years of age (not occupying a seat);
2. holders of diplomatic passports.
3. Transfer passengers, who are subject to a tax of USD 10.-.
